plans to accommodate 155 pupils of four elementary grades who lost their school quarters when the Congregational Church building in which they had been holding classes was destroyed by fire this morning Pupils of the second third fourth and fifth grades had been attending classes in the church structure built in 1794 since a consolidated school burned here in 1945 Cecil Cutts Oakland Superintendent of the School District which Includes Norridgewock placed the school department loss at $i-500 Four rooms in the building were used for school purposes and some of the equipment was saved including desks which will need refinishing for future use Pupils began their Christmas vacation today and ins will be announced soon for he distribution of the pupils Cutts The temporary assignments will be necessary for between two and three months Cutts said since after that a new consolidated school now in the process ol construction will be ready lor occupancy The fire was'
